Youth Skill Development Program
In the past few years, it has been keenly noticed that the number of dropouts after the 10th and 12th standards have increased. Multiple research studies have confirmed this issue. Students mainly drop out due to financial constraints and family challenges.
Due to a lack of professional growth, they are trapped in the vicious cycle of poverty.
Seva Sahayog Foundation felt the urge to interact with these students, provide them with short-term Skill Development Training and help them get into the organised sector
Objectives
- To select youth from underprivileged sections of society and enrol them in the Youth Skill Development Program
- To provide short-term skilling courses to students which would generate additional employment opportunities
- To monitor the program regularly to ensure attendance, quality of the training, and minimum drop-outs
- To provide placement assistance to all students who complete the course successfully

Outcomes
- This program helps the youth become financially independent and support their families.
- The project aims to bridge the gap between industry requirements and the availability of skilled youth.
Impact
Under this project, 146 youths have successfully completed the course so far and 72 of them are performing jobs in the Private sector. Our vision is to skill 1000 youth by 2025 under Youth Skill Development Program.
In 2023-2024, The Garware Youth Development Centre (GYDC) in Wai reduced dropout rates by offering personality development and digital literacy training. GYDC has successfully skilled over 100 youth, both boys and girls, in digital literacy and trained 20 students in the electrician trade, with around 80% of the electrician batch securing industry placements immediately after course completion.
